During this time of uncertainty with the Coronavirus pandemic, we’ve all been shown over the last few weeks how when a small community comes together, big things can happen. The outpour of care, love, and concern during this time of crisis does not go unnoticed.
That being said, we’re asking that our residents, staff, and visitors continue to find ways to support our growing community over the next few weeks. Here are a few ideas on ways that you can care for your favorite, local businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic:
1. Order takeout from your favorite restaurant
Many eateries have expanded to offer curbside pickup and food delivery through services like Grubhub, Doordash, and others. See our list of restaurants offering pickup in Greeley below.
2. Purchase a gift card from local small businesses
Buy now, shop later! Restaurants, boutiques, and service-based businesses would appreciate the support. Plus, many shops and stores are updating their online inventory daily or offering online purchasing. Visit your favorites to see their updates.
3. Show your support with a Google review
Leaving a little love on Google for small businesses can go a long way. Send your favorite restaurants, retailers, and companies some stars and leave them a review on Google.*
* Google reviews are currently experiencing limited functionality due to COVID-19. Unfortunately, reviews may not show up due to restrictions that are in place. For more information on how this impacts Google My Business, view their response here.
4. Donate where and how you can
Drop off your food and clothing donations to local shelters, food banks, or donation sites. Their supplies are diminishing as the demand is becoming greater. Resources are needed now more than ever.
5. Become a helper if you’re able
Check on elderly family members, friends and neighbors to see if you can deliver groceries to their doorstep. There are several local Facebook Groups created where requests are being made and people are stepping up to offer help.
6. Thank those that are who are protecting our community
Take the time to recognize our doctors, nurses, medical staff, public health department, military, police, firefighters, and first responders who are working around the clock to help control the spread of COVID-19.
7. Give a ‘thumbs up’ with a little social media engagement
Many Greeley businesses are not only providing updates on their hours and products but also spreading words of positivity on social media. Look to their content for inspiration and ideas, but also give it a ‘like’ to show them that you’re listening.
